Lemon Drop Recipes

Lemon drop recipes you can make at home. The ladies love these cocktails, so guys pay attention.

Lemon Drop

Like a cosmopolitan, the lemon drop martini is a cocktail you just have to know how to make, because there is always someone who asks for it. Here we have the standard version.

1 1/2oz vodka, I like to use a citrus vodka such as Absolut Citron
3/4oz triple sec
1oz sweet and sour mix
1/2oz fresh lemon juice

Muddle or squeeze and couple of lemon wedges into a shaker. Mix ingredients and strain into a sugar coated martini glass and garnish with a lemon wedge.

For the Lemon Drop Deluxe simply add these two ingredients to the recipe above:

A dash of Limoncello, a lemon flavored Italian liqueur.
A dash of Grand Marnier.

Somehow these additions add a lot of richness and depth to this cocktail that you can taste. This is also probably the most popular cocktail at the restaurant where I work.

Raspberry Lemon Drop

1 1/2oz raspberry vodka such as Stolichnaya Raspberry
3/4oz Triple Sec
1/2oz Chambord - raspberry liqueur
1oz of sweet and sour mix
3/4oz of fresh lemon juice

Muddle a couple of lemon wedges. Pour ingredients except for the Chambord, that comes last. Shake cold with ice, and strain into a sugar rimmed martini glass. Now pour just 1/2oz of the Chambord. When pouring, touch the end of the pour spout to the inside for the martini glass. The Chambord will naturally sink to the bottom of the cocktail giving you a layered effect. Once again this goes back to presentation; it just looks cool to do it this way. Garnish with a lemon wedge.

Ruby Drop

Here is a wild lemon drop recipe that I came up with. It's actually tastes like a cross between a lemon drop and sangria.

1 1/2oz Tuaca
1oz Ruby Port
1oz fresh lemon juice
splash orange juice
splash sweet and sours mix

Mix these ingredients together in a shaker tin. Shake cold and stain into a bucket glass over the rocks. Sugar rim the glass in you like it sweeter and garnish with a lemon wedge.

Strawberry Lemon Drop

I love this lemon drop recipe!

1 1/2oz of a strawberry vodka such as Stolichnaya Strawberry
3/4oz Triple Sec
1oz of sweet and sour mix
3/4oz fresh lemon juice
1/2 of a strawberry

Muddle 1/2 of a strawberry with a couple of lemon wedges. Pour ingredients and shake cold with ice. Strain into a sugar rimmed martini glass. Garnish with a lemon wedge. This drink looks so enticing with all the fresh strawberry pulp mixed in with the cocktail.
