Hostess Without Proper Ingredient!

Mint Julep

Mint Julep

Question:

I'm making Mint Juleps for company to go with my appetizers. I have already made the minted simple syrup for tomorrow's guests when I realized the 'Jack Daniels' I thought was Bourbon is not. The J. D. label simply says Tennessee sour mash whiskey.

I live in the country...the liquor store is a few miles drive away; hence, my question in the hopes of avoiding it:

If I use the Jack Daniels will there be a significant difference in the taste of my Mint Juleps?

Thank you,

Angie

Answer:

Hi Angie,

Thanks for you question. I would say just run with it. That's part of the fun with making cocktails. You can really use your creativity to put your own twist on the classics. I don't think your guests should be able to detect and major difference, and I'm sure they will appreciate all the effort you put into it!
